Dear All,
I had a great time last week playing at the legendary Eel Pie Club (www.eelpieclub.com) the home of Richmond and Twickenham rhythm and blues. I was singing for Gary Grainger and Peter Hope Evans in their blues club outfit.
Songs, including 44, Rolling and Tumbling, Too late, and On the road, seemed to go down well with the cognescenti, and it occurred to me that as I had lived in Richmond for 10 years, it was odd it was my first visit to the club. Still, better late than never.
The line up was impressive, Gary played guitar with Rod Stewart for ages, Peter was in Medicine Head, and plays harp on Pete Townshends' records and Guy Fletcher and Danny Cummings both play for Mark Knopfler. Alan Rogan was on bass.
I was pleased to see Luke in the crowd, and other friends from the area turned up. I really had a good time, being on stage with the band and learning the material. Thanks to everyone involved.
I am heading back in to the studio next week with Luke and Dorie to continue recording the acoustic set, the tunes I am hoping to get down are Water Taxi, Don't Do That No More, and the Roll Call of the Reef.
My plan is to have an albums' worth of material ready for your scrutiny by Easter.
